Alright, so what is a reasonable man you ask? Well, let me tell you what a reasonable man is not. A reasonable man is not the man with the blonde hair in the oval office (stick with me, please). A reasonable man is not the man with 72 children and cyber trucks (again, stick with me, please). A reasonable man is not a man who is over 50 in a position of power that advocates for everything that isn’t you to enrich themselves. I reasonable man is not one that neglects you just because you are a man and prioritizes every other group. A reasonable man is not the man that influences young men on instagram with falsehoods of masculinity and creates the opposite of what we are looking for.
A reasonable man is a man that is strong. Physically, mentally, and in the heart. A reasonable man is one who works hard for what he has. A reasonable man is one who supports those around him when he can. A reasonable man is one that leads with kindness and understands where someone else is coming from. A reasonable man is one that leads by example and is a role model for those around him. A reasonable man is one that is open with others about how he feels. A reasonable man is one that does not bucket people into groups. A reasonable man is a man that is passionate and speaks how he feels. A reasonable man is a man that does not demean and belittle others. A reasonable man is one that strives to have a wife, family, and kids (if he chooses to). A reasonable man is one that puts others before himself. A reasonable man is a man that leads with respect, honesty, and integrity.
That’s what I want for our young men. I want our young men to be that. I want our young men to have a positive role model. I want them to practice positive masculinity. It’s important and it’s necessary.
That’s what being a reasonable man is to me. What is being a reasonable man to you?
Be Well, Stay Strong, Brother.
I’m here for you.
