People In Public #1: The Berkshire Bully

Peace, love, and happiness. That’s what the Berkshires are all about right? Everyone is loving, everyone is kind, everyone is generous. That’s what they all preach. That’s what they all say.
Over the weekend, my wife and I took my grandmother to the Berkshires for the day because she had never been before. We were in downtown Stockbridge strolling around. Having an amazing day. We walked into one of the shops and there was a a sock monkey that looked like Curious George. My grandmother saw these two women (a lesbian couple in their 60’s) and said to them “Look how cute Curious George Is”. They looked at her and said in an extremely condescending way “That’s not Curious George honey.”
They went on and continued to laugh in the store for the next five minutes and say things like “I’ll give her the win, what a poor thing.”
I was not directly there when this encounter happened. My wife told me as she saw the whole thing happen. I saw these people obnoxiously laughing making fun and asked my wife what happened and that’s when she told me.
My wife really wished she said something but she just couldn’t believe how rude and ignorant they were.
I was appalled and in shock myself. These are the same people that preach to be loving, be happy, and be free. And they are the same ones making fun of an 80 year old lady with dementia.
But don’t worry, if I were to make fun of them or say something I’d probably be in the local Berkshire County jail for some sort of identity harassment.
Those two 60 year old lesbian woman should be ashamed of themselves.
Imagine just flat out making fun of someone like that? And continuing to go on and on? That’s a flat out bully. A big Berkshire Bully.
Don’t make fun of people. Especially, an 80 year old grandmother with dementia. It’s not cool. It’s embarrassing. Best part is, I looked up the sock monkey online and it was an original version of Curious George.
Be well, stay young.
